About Us

ETC Investment Group is the largest systematic investment research club at the University of Toronto. We intend to build a community that will bridge industry professionals and academia, offering research capacity in quantitative finance, global macro and industry equity. We hope our members learn from each other and encourage one another, to become better analysts and investors in the financial markets.

Our executives, who come from a variety of backgrounds in mathematics, statistics, economics, and commerce, regularly publish educational pieces reflecting our observations of the financial markets, and host programs that allow us to share valuable insights surrounding investments and technical analysis. Additionally, we focus not only on Canadian markets but also on emerging overseas markets. With the opportunities and the platform that we offer, as a student, you will be able to learn to trade in different contexts, to grow your ability to analyze data and act based upon your insights, and form allies with whom you can develop your skill sets even further.

To date, the Group has recruited over 150 executives and surpassed 2000 registered members. ETC has provided an open and inclusive platform for students who have a passion and initiative to learn about trading, as well as a place for them to dive deeper into the topics they're interested in.

Values

As we face different levels of student need of financial knowledge and networking, we share our resources and are stronger together -- our members, thus, have access to workshops in either locations and will be able to benefit from the events that we host uniting students from both universities.

We believe in the accessibility of knowledge and that anyone can start trading and investing if they want to, and we are there to provide the basics for those who have the momentum to get started, and go further.

Alumni

We also have a strong alumni representation in top financial institutions across North America and East Asia.
