Each month, ETC invites one to three ETC alumni, ETC analysts, or professionals to host a speaker event. In the past, we have hosted events discussing currency exchange, capital market movements during the pandemic, China’s capital market, the future of machine learning and so much more.

Group Coffee Chat

ETC hosts a series of group coffee chat determined to build meaningful connections between students and professionals. Each coffee chat is consists of ten ETC members as attendants and one professional as guest.

ETC 101

To help our members start trading, ETC conducts its own trading course, Elite Trading Course 101. The course materials consists of basic trading theories along with fundamental analysis, technical analysis, and portfolio construction. The course is simple and basic to make sure everyone will be on board.

Trading Competition

This event provides our members a chance to practice their strategies with fun. ETC hosts a three-month-period trading competition once a year. Participants compete with each other through virtual platform for a prize.

Case Competition

To better help our members practice their analysis skill, ETC hosts a case competition or a case competition boot camp once a year. The case is usually based on the theory of value investing.

Cocktail Party

After each recruitment, ETC will host a cocktail party exclusive to its members. In the event, new and old members gathered together with alumni to drink, chat, laugh, and network.

[Competition] - Wealth Management

This year, the teams are asked to pitch a portfolio to a client with an interest in engineering/science-related company. The winning teams take home a cash prize of $1000. We are honored to feature Ellen JingYuan He from BC Research, Charles from Facebook and Uoft, Michael Lu from RBC, and Cora Chen from BMO to join the judging panel. [Competition] - Elite Trading Competition
